qq"un sait ce que vaut le film Walk The Line ?

Je trouve que c'est un très bon film.    Cash est né en 1932 et ce film retrace sa vie de 1944 à 1968.  Le son est assez puissant  ( si on a l'équipement pour ).  On voit notamment Cash avec le label SUN, le légendaire label de Rock and Roll à Memphis.
 
On y croise Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, June Carter ( issue d'une famille très populaire de country, future femme de Cash ) ...
 
 
 
 
 
Même si je ne suis pas forcément un défenseur de la VO à tout prix, là elle est OBLIGATOIRE !
 
En VF, tout est nunuche, c'est foireux.  En VO, ce film est superbement joué par Joachim Phoenix et Reese Witherspoon
 
 
 
La performance des acteurs ( qui chantent aussi réellement et se sont entrainés à ça ) est superbe.
 
 

 
 
 
 

 
 

 

 
 
Je l'ai trouvé presque aussi bien Ray niveau jeu d'acteur. Mais l'histoire de Cash m'a bcp plus marquée
 
Et je rejoins meriadeck pour Hurt, je ... RAH, rien que le titre Hurt. Simple et efficave. Pour la peine hop.

Grosse sortie 2DVD.  Il est censé être sorti officiellement en France. ( pas encore vu )
 
Il contient de très nombreux moments de son émission TV Johnny Cash show de 1969 à 1971.  3 années pleines, il suffit de voir les inviter.
 
 
Sous ses allures de patriarche de Nashville, il ne faut pas oublier qu'il a été un grand défenseur de l'electrique, de Dylan ( insulté à chaque passage à Nashville au point que Cash lui-même est monté sur scène pour faire le public ).

Si tu possèdes "The man comes around" de 2002, alors "Solitary Man" de 2000 est dans le même esprit : quelques reprises, quelques invités, quelques chansons traditionnelles, même filiation musicale.  Et les deux ont été fait comme si ça allait être les derniers albums du monsieur qui se sentait partir.
 
Par contre, les autres diffèrent.

Personellement je ne possede qu'une compile (http://www.amazon.com/Legend-Johnny-Cash/dp/B000BISBDY/ref=pd_bbs_3?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1200503575&sr=8-3) et j'aime bien, surtout les anciens morceaux, genre Sunday Morning Coming Down ou l'excellent live d'A Boy Named Sue.

Enorme Cash , énorme le film Walk the line.

J'aime bien le Cash du début, les lives en prison (Folsom est encore meilleur que San Quentin amha), ses premiers duos avec June, enfin toute la bonne vieille country des années 50-60.
 
 
Par contre je suis pas fan des American Recordings et de ses reprises.

Hurt est carrément géniale      
Il y a sa reprise de "House of the rising sun" qui est pas mal aussi, même si c'est loin d'égaler "Hurt"

Excellent artiste   , je l'ai découvert avec "The City of New Orleans"  (repris plus tard par Joe Dassin)

Je trouve au contraire qu'il a terminé sa carrière - et sa vie - d'une façon qu'aucun grand artiste du 20e siècle n'a fait dans la chanson.
 
Je pense que n'importe qui aurait terminer en laissant une telle aura que ses 10 années avec Rick Rubin ...

Est-ce que quelqu'un a vu le film : I walk the line ?  
Personnellement j'ai beaucoup aimé, et je l'ai trouvé tourné très habillement

Je recherche un vinyle de johnny cash sur lequel je pourrais trouver Girl from north country avec Bob Dylan. Quelqu'un peut m'aider ?

 
De Cash, je sais pas. Mais sur Nashville Skyline de Bob Dylan tu le trouveras.

J'aimerais commencer à écouter le bonhomme, sachant que de ce que j'ai écouté, je ne suis pas de tout, j'ai une grosse sensibilité pour des morceaux comme "Ain't no grave" ou ses reprises de NIN, U2, Depeche mode.  
 
Du coup faut tabler sur quelle période et quels albums ?
