voila un problème à la con pour les courageux, je n'espère pas trouve de solutions ici mais sait-on jamais.
 
Tout d'abord détail de la config:
 
Debian Sarge puis Etch pr voir si ca donnait qqch
 
Exim4+fetchmail+procmail+spamassassin+courier imap(+squirrelmail). L'idée était de rappatrier tous mes mails sur une même machine qui s'occuperait d'un tri basique au niveau serveur + anti spam et accessible depuis web et n'importe quel client sur n'importe quel machine (imap).
 
Le problème est que le daemon fetchmail "cale" au bout d'un certain temps. l se lance autmatiquement avec le script de la debian dans /etc/init.d et le fichier de conf très basique dont je suis sur de la syntaxe. Pour diagnostiquer plus précisément le problème, j'ai rajouté l'option -v et analyser le log (attention). Il Yy a trois poll, un POP3, un IMAP4 et un IMAP4+SSL.

J'ai exactement ce système et je lance fetchmail via un cron.
 
tu as quoi dans ton ~/.fetchmailrc ?

via le cron c'est ok fetchmail se relance a chaque fois.  
si je restart le daemon c'est aussi ok, pendant un temps, jusqu'a l'apparition du problème. Mais une fois apparu, chaque check va se gauffrer de la sorte jusqu'a que je kill et restart.
 
Via le cron il utilise .fetchmailrc, via le script debian il est lancé par l'utilisateur "fetchmail" créé automatiquement et utilise le fichier /etc/fetchmailrc (c'est la présence de celui ci qui fait qu'il se lance en daemon, config debian par defaut). Les deux sont identiques et ne contienne que des trucs du genre:
 
poll pop3.evhr.net
protocol pop3
user "evhr_mart" password "****" is martin here  
 
etc. Avant j'avais fetchmail sur ma workstation (Sid) j'avais pas remarqué ce probleme...Maintenant j'avais activé le daemon que récemment. Mais la ca tient pas 24h sans prob sur le serveur.

n'utilise pas le daemon et fait un bug report
