Attention RedHat 8.0 users. If you want NTFS support, you now need only install an RPM to get it.
See our RedHat Page for more details.

If you are looking for help, then have a look at our updated NTFS FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions).

IRC: Anton and FlatCap (Richard) are almost permanently in our IRC channel: #ntfs on irc.freenode.net (formerly openprojects)
Drop in, and say hello.

Status
Latest stable new NTFS kernel driver: 2.1.0

The new NTFS driver is now part of the developmental Linux kernel series (2.5.x) and the latest release is included with kernels 2.5.33 and later.

The new NTFS driver has been backported to the stable Linux kernel series (2.4.x) and it is available from our download page.

Latest stable old NTFS kernel driver: 1.1.22

The old NTFS driver is part of the stable Linux kernel series (2.4.x) and the latest release is included with kernels 2.4.18 and later.

Before reporting bugs in either NTFS kernel driver, it would be great if you could try a kernel containing the latest NTFS driver first. Thanks.

About
The goals of this project are: create a new Linux kernel driver for the NTFS file system (v1.2 and later 3.0), user space utilities (e.g. format, ntfs check, etc.) and a library to avoid code duplication and provide access to NTFS to other GPLed programs.
